I LOVE the hashtag MomLife. To me it’s a funny, cute, sarcastic, but also very honest hashtag. I think it can sum up what it is to be a mother in two words. I’m sure all the mama’s out there understand. And I’m sure you’ve all seen that I use #MomLife on most, if not, all my posts on social media because…#MomLife.
Motherhood has been such a beautiful adventure. I feel like other than being a wife, it has taught me some of the hardest lessons I’ve ever had to learn. It’s taught me what it truly means to be selfless, and to love unconditionally. It’s taught me that mom’s don’t get sick days. That every moment is a cherished bubble of time that can be overlooked too quickly. Motherhood has taught me that priorities are important. Loving yourself is vital in order to love others well. That some days will go by soooooooooooo slllllllooooooooowwwww and other days will fly by faster than you can blink. It’s taught me that being intentional is key to living a life of abundance. Abundance in laughter, joy, love…etc. It’s taught me many things. I haven’t appreciated all the lessons while they were happening, but whenever I look back, I’m always so thankful. I’m thankful for the moments of frustration and exhaustion. For the moments of feeling like giving up, and the moments of feeling empowered. I’m thankful that I have been called to be the best mother and wife that I can be in this season of life. I’m learning to be thankful when I fail. I’m learning to be thankful for not “having it all together”. I’m learning to be thankful to have a messy home. I’m learning to be thankful when I have little to no sleep under my swollen eyes. I’m learning to be thankful for moments like this, where my toddler interrupts my writing.
weeks later, to the point that I lost count. haha…
Motherhood has taught me a lot of things, and I know I will always be growing. So now as my daughter reaches her 2nd birthday, I’m going to keep myself in position to reach higher levels of joy, love, discipline, spirituality, wife life, mom life, daughterhood, sisterhood, friendship, and so many other places. Thank you for going on this journey with me. I’m excited for what the future holds!
So here’s to hashtag MOMLIFE fo realz
What has motherhood taught you?
